    1919-1989
       Nacido en Berlin, en 1938 emigra a los Estados Unidos con su familia. Tuvo al principio algunas dificultades para hacerse un sitio en el mundo del cine, en el que empezo como ayudante de direccion en Monogram. Ya en Fox ascendio a la categoria de productor asociado y consigue, en 1955, realizar su primera pelicula, Un beso antes de morir (A Kiss Before Dying), que es distribuida por United Artists. Se mueve, por lo general, con presupuestos ajustados, pero cuando no lo hace tampoco por ello se ven favorecidos sus filmes. Dirige un buen punado de episodios de series de television, y tambien algun largometraje en Alemania. Es hijo del tambien realizador Richard Oswald. Sus tres westerns no ofrecen nada especial.
