    Американо-английский договор о дружбе, торговле и мореплавании, подписанный 19 ноября 1794 в Лондоне особым уполномоченным США Дж. Джеем [ Jay, John] и министром иностранных дел Англии; ратифицирован Сенатом 24 июня 1795. В нем была сделана попытка урегулировать споры, связанные с ходом выполнения ряда пунктов Версальского мирного договора [ Treaty of Versailles] 1783, а также конфликты, вызванные англо-французской войной. Договор не был равноправным для США: хотя он и устанавливал одинаковый режим мореплавания для обеих сторон, тоннаж американских судов ограничивался, и вопрос о захватах американских экипажей англичанами оставался открытым. Англия, правда, обязывалась оставить форты на северо-западе. Договор предусматривал создание смешанных комиссий для уточнения границ с Канадой и установления сумм взаимных претензий граждан США и Англии.
