Второй конгресс [Second Continental Congress] был созван 10 мая 1775 уже после сражений под Лексингтоном и Конкордом [ Lexington and Concord, Concord, Battle of]. Вашингтон [ Washington, George] был назначен главнокомандующим, 4 июля 1776 была одобрена Декларация независимости [ Declaration of Independence], составлен проект Статей Конфедерации [ Articles of Confederation]
